cytopathology and fine needle aspiration cytology
Dr Suchitra Somers is a graduate of the University of Adelaide.
She commenced her pathology training in Adelaide, at Flinders
Medical Centre and the Women's and Children's Hospital, having
worked previously in general practice. Dr Somers completed her
pathology training in London, at Kings College Hospital, where she
was appointed as a Clinical Lecturer. She was then appointed as a
consultant at St Georges Hospital, London, reporting breast and
gynaecological pathology and cytopathology.
In November 2005, Dr Somers joined Clinpath, where she works as
a specialist histopathologist and cytopathologist. Her main areas
of interest are gynaecological, breast, gastrointestinal and
urological pathology, and cytopathology, including fine needle
aspiration cytology, however, she enjoys all aspects of surgical
pathology. Dr Somers is a member of the Royal College of
Pathologists of Australasia and the Royal College of Pathologists
(UK).
